Frequently Asked Questions
A few quick answers to help you feel confident before we begin.
How do I know what my tax preparation will cost?+
Every situation is different, so we begin with a free, no-pressure estimate. After you share a few details about your return, we will outline the scope and you will know exactly what to expect before we begin.
How do I know if I can claim my dependent?+
The IRS has a few key rules. A qualifying child must generally live with you for more than half the year, be under 19 (or under 24 and a full-time student), and be younger than you or your spouse. A qualifying relative has a different support and income test. Most importantly, only one person can claim the dependent for that tax year, and the dependent must have a valid Social Security card or other taxpayer identification before we can file.
Can I file with you if I live in a different state?+
Yes. We are certified to prepare and electronically file returns in all 50 states, so we work with clients nationwide.
What is an advancement loan and how do I qualify?+
Eligible clients may access a tax refund advance of up to $7,500 through our partner lenders. Approval is based on your return and lender criteria and is not guaranteed.
What documents do I need to get started?+
Typically your ID, prior year return, income documents (W-2s, 1099s), and any statements for deductions or credits. We will send a personalized checklist after your intake.
Do you offer support after my return is filed?+
Absolutely. We are a year-round firm. Reach out any time with questions, IRS letters, or planning for the season ahead.
How long does the process take?+
Most returns are completed within a few business days of receiving all your documents. We will keep you updated every step of the way.
